Today (31 july 2016) is a day that all music lover know only too well. It seems like yesterday when we heard the unexpected news that Rafi was no more. He was just 55 years old at that time and he still had many years of singing career ahead of him. In a way, his demise signified the hastening of the end of the golden era of HFM, an era which had begun when his himself was making his mark as a playback singer in 1940s.

There was a very popular movie in our times… here I am considering the period of the late 70s when many of the followers of this blog were in high school or just out of school… no offence meant to the others in the blog. i know for a fact that even they would have enjoyed the movie I am talking of. ? It is well past 3.00 in the night (early hours of the 18th of July) as I start to write this post for the blog. I’m tired, my eyes are almost closing, I know I should be going to sleep – but the mind is rebelling and urging me on. It is saying “Go on, you can do it, you need to do it. “Jhumroo”(1961) was a K S Production movie which was directed by Shankar Mukherji. K S Stood for Kishore Kumar and Anoop Sharma (his secretary). Kishore Kumar had made Anoop Sharma as the producer of this movie instead of himself for tax purposes. This followed in the wake of “Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi”(1958) which was the first venture of K S Productions.
