In 2003 this was a very popular song. They would constantly play this song on FM channels. We had kept a small FM radio in the office, and usually it was kept on from mid-day, when all the urgent work of the section was done. Rest of the work could be handled while listening to songs on FM radio. Listening to it many times, tends to make transcribing the lyrics, an easy task. Analyzing the words and their meaning is not so simple.

Rafi Sahab’s Legendary Associations – 6
———————————–————––—
Remembering Mohammed Rafi Sahab on his 41st remembrance day :
Writing a post of a song by Mohammed Rafi Sahab is almost a second nature thing for me. I have not counted but nearly 50 % on my post must be of his songs, the exalted one, who was especially blessed by the Almighty with a life, spend smiling and spreading smiles as far as I know. Some people do want to remember him by the sad songs which he sang with equal spirit, giving them his all, that the song, situation and composition demanded, the same as he did for other songs. Hullo Atuldom
Back after a small absence where I terribly missed my favourite addiction- writing for the blog. Various reasons, primary being a minor mishap which has put my right hand in cast, and taken me away from the comfort of my desktop. But here I am, at the first available opportunity, when I got a few minutes with my computer. I have promised myself that I will write a very short post and obey the well-meaning advice of my friends of the blog and outside of the blog.

An out and out theatre person who seemed to have stepped on to the silver screen by accident. My first introduction to Dinesh Thakur was when I went to see a stage play in Delhi. I was in school, and the book-reading bug had bit me big time. I was devouring books by the dozen almost on a weekly basis. I got introduced to a wide variety of written genres and authors. In the midst of this, one stream was reading stage plays. Of course, started with the Shakespeare’s ‘Midsummer’s Night Dream’ which was part of our English curriculum. I picked up books of plays written by western authors, and then also got interested in reading plays by Indian authors.

Aah, coming back to Bombay. 🙂
In the first five episodes of this series, I have covered the Bombay gangouts that took place in December last year. However, my tales of Bombay are not yet done.
