The cast included Shahu Modak, Pandari Bai, Padmini, Anant Kumar, Mishra, Kumaridevi, Rushyendramani, Ragini, H Ramachandra Shastri, Deshraj etc. The film was a remake of the Kannada film, ‘Bedara Kannappa’ (1954) – [English translation: ‘Hunter Kannappa’] which was also directed by H L N Simha. Later, there were remakes of the film in Tamil and Telugu.
