“Ghar Ka Chiraag” is a title that has been used twice in Bollywood- in 1967 and 1989. The 1967 film had a cast of Dharmendra, Waheeda Rehman, Balraj Sahni, Indrani Mukherjee, Dev Kumar, Biswajeet etc and had music by Madan Mohan for songs written by Kaifi Azmi. This was directed and produced by Jagdev Bhambri.

It’s cast was headed by Ashok Kumar, Nutan, Sunil Dutt and had Ramesh Deo, Shyama, Ashim kumar, Jayanthi, Shashikala, Bharathi, Mehmood, Soodesh Kumar and Sulochana Latkar. The dialogues and lyrics were written by Rajinder Kishan and Ravi was the music director.

Rajesh Khanna, the first superstar of hindi films, was born as Jatin Khanna on 29/12/1942 at Amritsar, Punjab. He is said to have had 17 solo hits from 1969 to 1971. This might be the only thing where Rajesh Khanna is ahead of superstar of the millennium, Amitabh Bachchan. He holds the record of 48 Platinum Jubilee hits and 26 Golden jubilee hits plus 22 silver jubilee hits. Certainly overtook the Silver Jubilee star Rajendra Kumar in a big way, who had 25 silver Jubilees in his time.
