“Agreement”(1980) had an interesting story line- a story line that many young males would dream about. 🙂 Here is the review of this movie on IMDB:

I have no idea when it was for the first time that I heard this song under discussion. I may have listened to it for the first time on radio many years ago.
I have never watched this movie ‘Jaane Anjaane-1971’. The song that I associate this movie with is not this title song, but other better known songs viz. ‘teri neeli aankhon ke’ and later ‘chham chham baaje re payaliya’. I became familiar with these songs when when I got a compilation of songs recorded in 1987-98 that I labelled as ‘classical songs from Hindi movies’.

Hullo to all Atulites
So let us have a song today(11 november 2016) to wish the Bengali/ Nepali beauty Mala Sinha on her 80th birthday. I don’t remember when was it that I became aware of this sweet smiled, doe eyed and talented actress. Must be when I saw a song where she was running around singing “Neeli aankh milalo ji, dil mein aaj chuppa lo jee” or singing “yaa allah yaa allah dil le gaya”. But I must have also seen her sing “chupke se dil dai de de nahin te shor mach jayega” alongwith our own Rajesh Khanna. She looked very cute and naughty in all these songs. Who can forget her say “hum moond ke palkon ko iss dil ko sazaa de toh”; or her “bade naa samajh ho yeh kya chahate ho”; looks like I can go on and on and on with my list of favourite Mala Sinha songs (didn’t know I knew so many!) But then she slowly graduated to roles of playing slightly senior characters not like Nirupa Roy or Indrani Mukherjee’s mother act but more like Asha Parekh or Waheeda Rehman’s wife of the senior hero who gets a song or two as in some of her 80s and 90s movies.

Genius of Jaidev – 55
——————————-
1971 Social Film “Ek Thi Reeta” had eleven songs. Seven out of them are already covered in our musical Blog. This is the Eighth one. I do not have two songs mentioned earlier. If some research minded Atulite can find those two songs (One by Sara Kapoor and one English song) they are welcome to send me those in Audio or Video format. Till then, this one is the last song as far as I am concerned and Hari Ichchha permitting we will go to the next Jaidev Film after this.

Hullo everyone
Here is a typical Kishore Kumar song. Combining with RD Burman he gives us a bhajan, qawwali and Hindustani classical all at one shot. Such a song has entertainment value and Kishore Kumar doesn’t disappoint (has he ever?) And there are very few Bollywood actors who can carry it off with equal gusto.
Here we have our very own Sanjeev Kumar giving a paisa vasool performance.

This post will finally bring the ‘curtains down’ on the recent ‘Banglore – Gang out’ series. The memories of this ‘gang-out’ (and for me – of the visit to Bangalore) will remain with us forever though.
The post has been delayed, first for uploading of the image and then due to other occasional posts. It is now exactly a month for the gang out and already a new gang-out to be held at Mumbai is being eagerly looked forward to by regulars. Let us enjoy the memories of the Bangalaore gangout till then.
