We are in the fag-end of the month of June of this year 2022. As I had mentioned earlier that this month is a special for many of us due to the many anniversaries falling in this month i.e., anniversaries of relatives, friends and as well as anniversaries of many artists too. Today we celebrate birth anniversary of our beloved music genius Rahul Dev Burman, and one post has already been posted on the blog remembering Pancham.

Today 27th June, 2022 is also the seventy-second birth anniversary of singer Nitin Mukesh (born on 27th June, 1950). We wish him a very happy birthday today and also wish him a healthy and peaceful life ahead.

Introducing “Tridev” (1989) on the blog with a song that was lost in the shadow of a more popular song of this movie. Both the songs have similar sounds at the beginning but the tune, the setting, words all are different. In fact “Tridev” had three songs that started with “oye oye”. Then the popular song went on as “Tirchhi topiwaale” and it had a version which was slower in tempo and can be labelled ‘sad version’. The song with this post went on as “gajar ne kiya hai ishaara” which was the song just before the climax. It had the three heroines doing a “jab tak hai jaan, jaane jahaan” kind of dance.

3rd Sunday of June is celebrated as Father’s Day and yesterday (19th June) was Father’s Day this year. The day is meant to honor Fatherhood and Paternal Bonds as well as the influence of fathers in society. In the USA, father’s day was founded by Sonora Smart Dodd, and celebrated on the third Sunday of June, for the first time, in 1910. The day is held across the world on various dates and different regions have their own traditions of honoring Fatherhood.

Today’s song is from the movie ‘Kabhi Ajnabi Thhe’ (1984).

One song from this movie has been posted on the blog by our Respected Sadanand ji, – “Dil Ki Is Dehleez Tak Jo Mehmaan Ban Ke Aaye“. In his write up Sadanand ji has mentioned Indian cricket and Bollywood both enjoy enormous popularity among Indians”. Yes! Very rightly said by him and this has the case been with most of our country-men and particularly people like me who have grown up in the ‘seventies’. We loved movies and cricket at the same level and they have been an integral part of our ‘life’s journey’.

“Maine Pyaar Kiya” (MPK 1989) was from the Rajshri Productions stable. It was directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya, story by S.M.Ahale, and screenplay and dialogues were by Sooraj Barjatya. Asad Bhopali and Dev Kohli were the lyricists. Vijay Patil (a.k.a Raamlaxman) was the music director. Memories of visit to London in September 2021

This post has been a long time in arriving actually.  We went to UK not as tourist, but to see family, mainly the daughter of the family and the new grand-daughter.  We came back to Mumbai in October’21.  Lot of water has flown down the bridge since then and the grand daughter is growing by leaps and bounds since we were with her, by the grace of Almighty.
