Today (4 january 2014) is the 21st death anniversary of R D Burman (27 june 1939- 4 january 1994). He was only 53 years of age at that time, and it was unimaginable to realise that he was without work for several years during the last years of his life- and that too in an industry where he redifined the kind of music that would become the norm and an industry where he ruled the roost for well over a decade !

Rafi Sb – In The Seventies – 13

(1977 – Solo)
When I picked this song for this series, my first reaction was – wow, not yet posted on the blog? I remember from the radio listening days, that this song was very popular in its time. So continuing in my line of light hearted romantic songs here is one more. Now this one is from the 1978 Dharmendra- Hema Malini – Prem Chopra starrer “Azaad”. This song is in the voice of Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. It has music by RDB and the songs were written by Anand Bakshi. That means the songs from this movie were all great on the ear. What more does one expect when AB and RDB collaborate?
