Hullo Atuldom
Two years back, on this date I had sent this song to pay tribute to two legends of Bollywood a.k.a. Hindi film world. It was from the 1979 released Harmesh Malhotra directed & Gullu Sippy produced “Bagula Bhagat”. The cast was as follows: Ashok Kumar, Shatrughan Sinha, Shabana Azmi, Kamini Kaushal, Padma Khanna, Mehmood Jr. etc At that time, I had seen a short part of the film and thought I had spied Anwar Hussien & Goga Kapoor as his henchman. It had music by Kalyanji Anandji and songs written by Anjaan. Kishore Kumar, Mahendra Kapoor, Amit Kumar and Asha Bhonsle were the playback singers used in the 4 songs.

“Andhaa Kanoon” (1983) was a movie that was produced by A. Purnachandra Rao & directed by T. Rama Rao. Its music was composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and lyricist was Anand Bakshi. Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle, S.P. Balasubramaniam & Baby Rajeshwari were the playback singer used for the eight songs of the film of which one song Rote rote hansna seekho hanste hanste ronaa was a multi-part song; of which Kishore Kumar had a happy & sad version as also Baby Rajeshwari who got to sing a few lines of the song.

Hullo Atuldom
Before beginning this post, I googled to check out movies starring Sunil Dutt that has music by Laxmikant- Pyarelal. The reason for this search was to remember Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar (of the L-P duo) who passed away on 25th May 1998 & Sunil Dutt who left this mortal world on the same date in 2005. Like on previous occasions, the first result from Google was the 1967 hit ‘Milan’. Of course that is a movie that has long been YYIIPPEEEEd on the blog.
A hunt through the films starring Sunil Dutt helped me dig out a film that released in 1980.

Hullo Atuldom
The blog has songs from “Shri 420” (1955), “Shrimati 420” (1956) & “Ustaad 420” (1969) – from which “Shrimati 420” is one short from being YYIIPPEEEED. Hindi films have a few more ‘420’ (char sau bees). There is a “Khiladi 420” which came in 2000 & “Chachi 420” which released in 1997. These are the 420/s that I know of, there may be one or two more films with ‘420’ in their title.

The movie had Jeetedra,Mumtaz, Prem Chopra, K.N.Singh, Naaz, Asit Sen, Tun tun, Pravin Paul, Aruna Irani, Bobby, Jagdeep,Prabhakar Reddy, Ananda Mohan, Puranik, Premkumar, J.N.Anand, Kiran, Joshi, Nadir, Mamajee, Akhtar, Pande, Pratibha, Raja Rao, Brahm Bhardwaj etc in it. The search for songs of Mukesh continues as we close in on his last set of remaining songs that are yet unpublished on the blog. With the current count (prior to this post) at 818, there still is a good number of songs to be tracked and brought on board.
