Yearwise discussion of Lata Mangeshkar songs in HFM: Part LXI: Year 2010
———————————————————————————————————
In this episode, the 61st episode, we cover Lata Mangeshkar songs that she sang in Hindi movies released in 2010.
By the first decade of the millenium, Lata Mangeshkar’s share in Hindi movie playback had dwindled to a trickle. Searching for her songs in movie of this decade was like searching for needle in a haystack.

Today (20 November 2021) is the birthday of Minu Purushottam (DoB 20 November 1944). She made her debut in Hindi movies in 1963 with “Tajmahal”(1963), under the music direction of Roshan. The song was Naa naa naa re haath na lagaana , a duet alongwith Suman Kalyanpur. The lilting song from “Ye Raat Phir Na aayegi”(1966), Huzoorewaala jo ho izaajat , a duet with Asha Bhonsle, is quite a popular song to this day. Both songs incidentally were picturised on Helen and Madhumati (Helen clone).

Most Indians today know that Tiger is the national animal of India. But that was not the case when India became independent. Asiatic Lion (found in Geer forest in Gujarat), was declared as India’s national animal in 1948 by PM Jawaharlal Nehru in 1948, mainly because of lobbying by Gujrat Natural History Society.

———————————————————————————————————
In this episode, the 60th episode, we were supposed to cover Lata Mangeshkar songs that she sang in Hindi movies released in 2008.
But I was not able to locate any Lata Mangeshkar songs from movies released in 2008. Movies released during the next year, viz 2009 had just one movie where the voice of Lata Mangshkar was present. So in this episode we discuss a Lata Mangeshkar song from movies of 2009.

Missing Films of 1960s – 118
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
All changes with time. Does everything? There is a counter quote to this one – the more things change, the more they remain the same.
Do dreams change with time, across generations? Maybe some do. Does love change with time? I feel not. The basic understanding of emotions probably remains the same across generations, and maybe across geographies too.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Ah yes, of course. The reading of the title line tells us that we are getting another repeat song. And this one is a blockbuster – everybody knows the original, so I will not spend much time on that.
