She played a teacher to a teenager Rishi Kapoor in ‘Mera Naam Joker’ (1970) and is Manoj Kumar’s fiance too. Three years later, she played Amitabh Bachchan’s friend in ‘Namak Haraam’ (1973) when that character needed an emotional support when he felt betrayed by his best friend. But these were not her first appearances in the film industry.
