Nowadays it is happening with me regularly that whenever I come across a new song (newer to me) I check for its movie name, and when I became aware of the name of the movie I check it on the blog. I am under the impression that this movie surely is on the blog. But, when I found that the movie is not yet available on the blog, I do not believe it and keep checking many times in various lists  . The recent such instances is the movie ‘Taxi Chor-1980’ and another one is the today’s movie.

Today’s song is from the 1961 movie ‘Sampoorna Ramayana’.

‘Farmaaish’ of this song was also sent by our regular reader Shri. Deepak Patwardhan ji to me.

Today’s song is sung a Lata-Asha duet and that was the main reason of Deepak ji’s ‘farmaaish’ as he was surprised to note that this ‘duet’ has not yet been posted on the blog.

Hullo Atuldom

Indian films have seen many jodis (meaning duos) of writers, music directors, actors, actresses, hero-heroine etc. Something about these duos or pairs or jodis make them appealing in the minds of movie-watchers. Can we think of Dilip Kumar sans Madhubala, Raj Kapoor sans Nargis, Dharmendra sans Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan sans Shashi Kapoor or Vinod Khanna or Rishi Kapoor or many of the actresses that he was regularly paired with? Similarly we think of Salim Khan & Javed Akhtar in the same breath as also Husnlal-Bhagatram, Kalyanji- Anandji and Shankar- Jaikishan. What I have mentioned are pairs in Hindi films, I am sure there would have been & will be such pairs in films of other languages too and all of which were popular once upon a time & are still recalled fondly. When we speak of these pairs we cannot think of one without the other.

This 13th October I could not sent a Kishore Kumar song on his remembrance day. But I listened to the special programs on Vividh Bharati on Kishore Kumar that day, and also special program on Ashok Kumar too.

There is not a single day when we do not hear a Kishore Kumar song on radio. I also browsed some Kishore Kumar songs on YouTube in recent days and watched them, and also come across few songs which I had not watched or listened before and so do not remembered them.

Hullo Atuldom

This is a multi-birthday post.

First and foremost we shall be wishing our Sudhirji- The Dillwala Dilliwala; Atulji’s trusted lieutenant on his birthday. He has been a huge help to Atulji and that has ensured that the blog has had no dot days since 25th December 2019. Let us all wish this Atulite with lots of fun and music.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2012-2022) – Song No. 122
————————————————————————————–

Hullo Atuldom

“Vidhaata” (1982) made its debut on the blog on this date ten years ago (1 november 2012) with the song (Ho saathhiya) whose lyrics were contributed by Prakashchandraji. That was also a post to wish the leading lady of that film on her birthday.
That makes ‘Vidhaata” a part of the BTYC 2012-2022 today on 1 november 2022.

Ten years back on this date viz on 1 november 2012, six songs from six movies were covered on the blog. Here are the details:-

Blog post number Song Movie (Year) Remarks
6928 Haan qaidi Bhaabhi(1938) 2 songs out of 11 covered by now
6929 Ro ro nain ganwaaun sajanwa aan milo Baaghbaan(1938) 3 songs covered out of 9 by now
6930 Kehta thha zamaana magar hamne na maana Aag Ka Dariya (1953) Movie YIPPEED by now
6931 Hazaaron rang badlega zamaana Shirin Farhad (1956) Movie YIPPEED by now
6932 Wo ek haseen ladki jo bas laajawaab thhi Aakraman(1975) Movie YIPPEED by now
6933 Ho saathiyaa Vidhaata(1982) 2 songs out of 8 by now

The above table shows that three movies have been yyiippeeeed so far and I have no idea about the availability of the songs of the movie released in 1938. Hence I am going for a song from “Vidhaata” to go with this post.

The recent months have been very different for me as I was going through many things including many thoughts going through my mind. (I will be trying to put them in my write-ups and present them in future on the blog.).

There was a busy work schedule at work whole of July-August as we shifted the whole warehouse from one place to another (around 10 kms from original location). Thereafter it was getting settled at new location and matching the speed with the requirements of Production in the factory. Add to this the daily travel to reach the workplace and coming back to home. I was not getting into the right mood of writing.

Dada Burman – the senior doyen of the music directors of Indian cinema. A music director who, unlike many other music dirrctors,  maintained  consistency in his work all through his career. His fans, critics and observers of music, journalists and industry biggies – whatever they may say about his work, all agree that Sachin Da has consistently maintained a very high quality and a very high standard of his music direction work, across all his films.

Remembering SD Burman on the anniversary of his passing away – 31st October, 1975, i.e. 47 years ago.
