Today’s song is the last and final song from a Crime, mystery, Social film- Vishwanath-1978.
I am glad to say that this is the 50th YIPPEE SONG, discussed by me since 14-8-2026 till today. That means, in 64 days 50 such songs were discussed, which has hopefully enriched the Blog in lumpsum quantity. I would once again stress that this was not an easy series for me. It entailed hard work, spending most of my day time and some night time in collecting relevant data like the Yippee song, details of the film, story, other interesting titbits, film scenes in that year and adding short Biographies of selected artists. I must admit that all this exercise for every song everyday also added a lot of information for me too !

Today’s song is the last and final song from a Crime and Social film-Woh Main Nahin-1974.
Produced and directed by Mohan Sehgal for Uma Cine Films P. Ltd. Bombay, it had music by the pair Sonik-Omi, for the songs written by Verma Malik. The cast of the film included Navin Nischal, Rekha, Rakesh Pandey, Padmini Kapila, Iftekhar, Nadira, Jahagirdar, Manhar Desai and a long list of other actors. Special appearances were by Asha Sachdev, Nazneen and Narendranath.

Pancham’s Music – Eighties-to-Nineties (1981-1994…) Duets-14
With this presentation I resume the journey of ‘Pancham’s music’ – the duet songs he composed in the decade of eighties and further till his last release after his passing away in 1994.
In this post we have a duet song composed by Pancham for the 1981 movie ‘Biwi O Biwi’. This was a Comedy movie. It was directed by Rahul Rawail for R.K. Films, Bombay. The cast of this movie has Sanjeev Kumar, Randheer Kapoor, Poonam Dhillon, Yogita Bali, Simmi Grewal, Rajendra Nath, Dina Pathak, Prema Narayan, Shashikala, A.K. Hangal, Dulari, Hari Shivdasani, Jagdish Raj, Sunder, Bhagwan, Kamaldeep, Vishva Mehra, Anu Dhawan, Gautam Sarin and others. Deven Verma had a guest appearance in this movie.

6th October is the birthdate a very handsome talented actor who could have fallen in the category of “SUPERSTAR” too, if he had not just given it all up to follow his spiritual Guru just as his career was on the upswing. He was an actor who could dance without making the audience feel that he was uncomfortable, I have seen him match steps with HEMA MALINI & Kalpana Iyer in the 1980s. He was introduced into Hindi films in Sunil Dutt’s ‘Man Ka Meet’ in a supporting role in 1968. He played supporting characters to Rajesh Khanna, Shammi Kapoor, Jeetendra, Dharmendra, Manoj Kumar etc. in his initial films. He didn’t flinch from playing characters that had grey or negative traits- he was good in action sequences too.
His first leading role was in Gulzar’s directorial debut ‘Mere Apne’. He experienced stardom & success in the late 1970s and was seen playing solo protagonist in films like ‘Inkaar’, ‘Shaque’ (to name just two, there are many). He held his own in multi-starrers too; that is also a very long list. I would like to mention that he was repeated by al the filmmakers of that time- Feroz Khan, Sunil Dutt, Prakash Mehra, Manmohan Desai, Raj Khosla etc.
We are thinking of Vinod Khanna on what would have been his 80th birthday.

Slowly and steadily, we reach the landmark of yet another blog century, namely the blog century number 206. Or in other words, blog post number 20600.The previous century post had appeared on 13 August 2026 and it was published by Sudhir Jee. Not just the century post, bulk of posts leading up to that century post were published by him whereas I was absent from action for more than a month.
Today is 4 October 2026. So this century is appearing 52 days after the previous century. The reason for this slow pace is known to the regulars. What is important and heartening to note is that the blog continued to be active despite my absence thanks to the active participation of the other contributors. Sudhir Jee published bulk of posts sent by the contributors during this period. The contributors themselves went out of their way in ensuring that the blog continued to function normally, even if the rate of posts came down.

Made by United Movie Arts, Bombay it was produced by Sudesh Gupta. It was written by Rakesh Kumar and Arjun Dev Rashk. The film was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and the music was by R.D.Burman. Lyricist was Anand Bakshi. There was a long list of actors along with guest artists and special appearance actors. Rishi Kapoor, Bhavna Bhatt, Danny, Madan Puri, Ranjit, Om Prakash, Purnima, Farida Jalal, Paintal and others. Special appearances were by Shri Ram Lagoo, Sapru and Shivraj. The guest artist was Shashi Kiran.

The cast included Dev Anand, Rakhee, Suneil Anand, Raj Babbar, Smita Patil, Biswajeet, Natasha Sinha, Rakesh Bedi, Gautam Sarin, Sudhir, Birbal etc. It was Biswajeet’s first film with Dev Anand and his first in a villain’s role.
