I had come across today’s song couple of months back when I heard it on radio and again it got played on radio recently. The song is a distinct composition of a regular music director and music lovers can easily guess the name of the music director if they listen to the song. 28th Sept 2022 marks the first birthday of Lata Mangeshkar without her physical presence in this world. Due to old age and couple of hospitalizations at the fag end of her life, her passing away on that fateful day of 06th Feb 2022 was not really shocking so to say.
But then, an emptiness befell upon music lovers all over the world. It was as if a part of our lives was lost forever. It was a different kind of mourning; one of helplessness and the bare truth that such a soul would never be born again. And such is a gargantuan legacy of work left behind that one can only sit back and wonder how an individual could achieve so much in a single life. It is not about the span-life of her singing or the number of songs that she has sung, but of the utmost dedication, sincerity to her career and the love of the masses that she received.

‘Cape Fear’ (1962) was a noir psychological thriller that had Gregory Peck, Robert Mitchum and Polly Bergen in the cast and was directed by J Lee Thompson. The movie was based on the 1957 novel ‘The Executioners’ by John D. Macdonald. The movie was the story of an attorney whose family is stalked by a criminal he had helped to send to jail.

Today’s song is from the movie ‘Kabhi Ajnabi Thhe’ (1984).
One song from this movie has been posted on the blog by our Respected Sadanand ji, – “Dil Ki Is Dehleez Tak Jo Mehmaan Ban Ke Aaye“. In his write up Sadanand ji has mentioned “Indian cricket and Bollywood both enjoy enormous popularity among Indians”. Yes! Very rightly said by him and this has the case been with most of our country-men and particularly people like me who have grown up in the ‘seventies’. We loved movies and cricket at the same level and they have been an integral part of our ‘life’s journey’.

Today, I have mixed feelings in my mind. One way, I am happy that I am posting my 1,100th article here and on the other way, I am wondering how did I achieve this all? My first post came up here on 1-10-2012, though I had been posting my comments on the Blog’s other posts since the end of 2010. That time I had not even dreamt that I would ever write 1100 articles here or that I would remain connected with this Blog for almost 10 years continuously.
