Let me explain the title and the intent of this new series. This series is an outcome of the project that our dear Katie Ben from ‘saat samundar paar se’ has undertaken, after she got hold of the Geet Kosh volumes. She zeroed in on volume 4, and she set about identifying all the films of the 1960s, that have yet to find a representation on the blog. Specifically, the period covered is 1961 to 1970. So she has very zealously pored through the fourth volume, page by page, film by film, and simultaneously kept on checking with the data on the blog. There is a controversy, nicely explained by Sudhirbhai, that the abridged version of the 1957 film ‘Anjali’ has surfaced on Internet titled as ‘Arpan’. This version is only one hour long and all but one of the beautiful ten songs of the original film are ruthlessly ‘butchered’’ from this abridged version. I am sure the person with the pair of scissors must not be bestowed with appreciation for GOOD music. My ‘bud-duaa’ will haunt him even in hell, where he is a permanent resident now.

26th September – a day to remember, Dev Saab, the evergreen hero. Also, a day to remember the voice of romanticism that added the essence of emotional expressions to many of his performances. The deep bass voice of Hemant Kumar.

Dev Saab – the phenomena continues. With coming newer generation, it may fade away. But there is still many more generations to go before that can happen.
