In Memory of Mahatma Gandhi – the father of the nation.
——————————————————————-
Eknath Easwaran writes in the preface of a book:
“In India, Mahatma Gandhi is officially Father of the Nation. Centuries – pivotal events. And always welcome. Give us a quantized measure of manageable progress. Like one part of a lo..ong project accomplished. Or like completing one cycle of an endless process. Would we like to compare with the earth going around the sun? Maybe not a good idea. A century taking 365 days to complete. Or maybe compare to Victor Trumper and Don Bradman and Majid Khan – getting a century in the very first session of a test match. Ah but that maybe going too fast for this crowded bandwagon of Atulites.

Today’s song is from the 1969 movie ‘Sambandh’. I was aware of this ‘title’ since my childhood and I mainly associated this movie with its song ‘Chal Akelaa Chal Akelaa Chal Akelaa, Tera Mela Peechhe Chhoota Raahi Chal Akelaa’.
