Season’s greetings and best wishes to all for the Navratri Festival starting today (10 october 2018)!!!
I have mentioned in a few of my earlier write-ups that festivals too bring back many memories and they in turn bring back memories of songs which we have heard years before… in my case ‘years before’ generally means ‘in my childhood days or in those years when I was growing’ 🙂

Greetings to all friends and readers for on today’s festival of Raakhi. I hope and pray that celebrations have been happily enjoyed in all households.
Ten years now that we have been celebrating this festival online on our blog. In the early years, as one browses through the articles posted, there was always this apprehension as to how many songs related to this festival may be found. But then the going has been good and strong, and noting the contribution sent in by group members, I think we are still good for a few years to come, to continue this celebration online. Folks have been sending in Raakhi songs from the recent decades, and we have also been searching and locating songs from the 1940s and 1950s still waiting to be posted.

Today (2 march 2018) is Holi, the festival of colours in India.
This happens to be the TENTH Holi festival for the blog. We discuss Holi songs from Hindi movies on this occasion. As many as 55 Holi festival songs have been covered during the last nine Holi festival occasions. Almost all well known Hol festival songs have already been covered. But seeing that Holi is the most popular festival for Hindi movies, ahead of the second placed festival of Deewaali, we still have a good number of Holi festival songs still left to be covered.

# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 64# Singer – Kishore Kumar
———————————————–—————————-
In my opinion, Kishore Kumar’s voice reached a different and special plane altogether during late 1960s as compared to his voice prior to earlier years i.e. pre ‘Padosan'(1968) and ‘Aradhana’ (1969). He retained that “something special” in his voice for the rest of his career. His voice was at its versatile peak during this phase of his career.
